ASOS app users in Australia and elsewhere received a disturbing push notification on 6 October 2026, in what appears to be a hack of the online fashion retailer. The message contained a data breach warning and claimed personal data would be released.

Users responded with concern on social media, with outlets including News.com.au, Nine.com.au, the BBC, and the ABC reporting widespread concern. ASOS has still not disclosed the extent of the breach or how many customers had their data compromised.
