Canadians are heading into Thanksgiving weekend with steeper prices at the store, as multiple outlets report turkey and feast costs are up this year. Shoppers are spending more on holiday staples, with CityNews Calgary and Global News both noting the growing strain on household budgets.

Parts of the Prairies could see up to 10 cm of snow over the long weekend, complicating holiday travel. The OPP warns Thanksgiving ranks second among long weekends for road fatalities in Ontario. Drivers are urged to plan ahead and allow extra time before hitting the road.

On a lighter note, fall colours are peaking in Gatineau Park, attracting crowds to the area before the season shifts toward winter.
