Highway 3 is blocked from Hope to Manning Park, affecting local traffic. Wildfire activity made both lanes impassable, suspending travel. Travellers now exclusively use the Coquihalla Highway, bypassing the closure. The fire near Hope flames northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, producing thick smoke. Smoke is dense and readily to see, lowering visibility. A second blaze broke out south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire covers 300 hectares. It compelled officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now blocked.
