Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli headed home on Wednesday. They finished tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Around that same period, thousands of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa went back to their Japan post after missions related to the Iran situation. The Tripoli docked at its home port in Okinawa, ending its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force concluded joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit freed a newborn seal pup that was found by itself.
