A majority of members in the Australian Education Union’s Victoria branch voted against the state’s recent wage proposal, prompting public school teachers to walk out.

The AEU said they would pull back work when the vote revealed 51 percent rejected the revised offer.

The strike has been confirmed and planned to go ahead with no new negotiations scheduled at this stage.
