CenterPoint Energy confirmed that customers' personal details was exposed in a data breach. Class action lawsuits have been filed over the incident. The company stated services remain operational and that personal customer data was obtained.

In a separate matter, the FBI notified Springfield officials that a cyber attack on a school amounted to a data breach that may have exposed Social Security numbers. Student and employee data were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI delivered the alert to local officials.
