Ed Harris complained early on about his limited part in the series in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was pointless and wanted to leave. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he walked away. He later decided to return for Season 2 to come back for the next season. The show’s boss tweaked the story and gave his character more to do. That change made Harris choose to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the role.
