Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, criticised Labour’s internal culture after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza was rejected.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly described his statement at a conference as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unperturbed by criticism, telling reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed failed attempts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Leaked files and internal files were later filed that revealed deep divisions within Labour’s ranks over strategy and leadership.
