The Rugby Football Union plans to offer England head coach Steve Borthwick an extended contract. The planned agreement would retain him as head coach beyond the 2027 Rugby World Cup and through the 2028 Six Nations.
Borthwick would lead England at both competitions under the planned deal. His time in charge would carry on after the next men's Rugby World Cup, before continuing through England's Six Nations campaign the following year.
The extension would leave him in charge after the 2028 tournament had ended.
