Hundreds of mourners came together at St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who was killed in a collision while on duty. She was posthumously awarded honours at the service.

Separately, hundreds came to Bondi Beach for a vigil held to mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The crowd stood in solidarity as the anniversary was observed across Sydney.
